Teaching Materials

Coursebooks most often used include the …
New Headway series (beginner to advanced)
Total English (elementary to upper-intermediate)

and OK (elementary to upper-intermediate)

Teachers have access to many other coursebooks and materials and also prepare their own documents and materials (often in collaboration with the Director of Studies) for class use.

We use communicative teaching techniques using modern coursebooks, and teachers have access to audio, visual and ICT equipment. All four language skills are developed and an appropriate coursebook forms the basis of the syllabus, thus ensuring a good balance. Nevertheless teachers are flexible and we ‘negotiate’ aspects of the course content with students through discussions and weekly feedback each Friday.

Social and Cultural Activities

Summer activities:
On Wednesday
Once a week we hold a disco where students can have fun, meet each other and practise their English. We often hold a disco jointly with the riding school. Students can make their own way to the disco or we can transport them in our minibus.

On Mondays and Friday
Twice a week we arrange sporting activities close to the college. The students are supervised by the Sports and Social Co-ordinator and teachers and take part in various activities including football and volleyball
