Teaching Qualifications and Experience
I have 6 years' experience in teaching English as a Second Language to nationals of China, Brazil, Haiti, Venezuela, Cuba, Chile and India among others. I have also taught French and Spanish to adults and teenagers, and spent 11 years as a radio and TV journalist in Jamaica.
I hold a BA degree in Linguistics, a MA in Communication Studies and a graduate certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language (University of Calgary).
Hobbies and Interests
I love sewing, reading, playing the guitar, spending time with my family, walking on the beach, touring the countryside and volunteering in outreach programmes.
The student's bedroom has a double bed, desk and chair, closet, chest of drawers and book shelves. There is also an en suite bathroom which is solely for the student's use.
Excursions and Local Attractions
The island has numerous white coral- sand beaches offering activities such as snorkeling with turtles, scuba diving, surfing, paddle boarding, glass bottom boat excursions or simply sun bathing or swimming. Other activities include zip lining, going on an island Safari Tour, an undersea adventure in a submarine and visits to the Barbados Wildlife Reserve, the Animal Flower Cave, Harrison's Cave and museums.
