I live ten minutes by car from the central city area and an easy walk from Mission Bay beach-a popular meeting place for both locals and tourists. Your room is private with an exceptionally comfortable bed. The house has a peaceful garden and decks for relaxing. Nearby there is a shopping centre and several stunning parks. I look forward to showing you the sights of Auckland.

Teaching Qualifications and Experience

I have a BA degree from Auckland University (1985) and a Diploma of Teaching from Auckland University (2000). I also have a teaching English to adults qualification CELTA.

My teaching experience includes teaching in high schools in New Zealand as well as working as a teacher advisor in the Middle East.

Hobbies and Interests

I'm a keen traveller. Two years ago I spent a couple of months in South America learning Spanish so have had personal experience of learning a language and living in a homestay.

In NZ, I love going to the beach, swimming and hiking. I'm also keen on dancing and enjoy all sorts of music.

A double bedroom with it's own toilet and shower. There is a large wardrobe. It's sunny in the mornings.

Excursions and Local Attractions

Auckland is a city of great natural beauty. Activities include cycling, swimming and hiking in the stunning parks and forests. I live a ten minute walk away from Mission Bay which is a popular beach and a centre for watersports, restaurants and nightlife. A ten minute drive away is the centre of the city which has many galleries, clubs and shops.

I would be delighted to take a guest to some of the extraordinary beaches and waterfalls on the outskirts of the city. Other excursions available are visits to the wine growing island of Waiheke and a trip to the thermal pools at Waiwera.

Maori cultural performances are popular at the Auckland Museum. Auckland is also known for it's diverse cultural markets that take place on weekends.
