Calvey's Homestay Activity Holiday Centre in Westport We provide Homestay Holidays on the Wild Atlantic Way for International students wishing to improve their English language skills. The holiday includes many outdoor activities, primarily horse riding, with a special emphasis on nature, wildlife and sea life. Throughout the students stay we combine all activities with a good mix of culture and traditional farm experiences. We are a small centre with no more than four students at any one time. We specialise in a one to one and personal service.
Our Homestay Holidays on Achill Island are unique to any other. Where else can you find a wonderful seaside location with excellent horse riding facilities, carefully selected host families, guided tours with local knowledge and a friendly personal service? Our holidays help students realise their horse riding potential, improve their knowledge of the English language, explore and learn new skills from water sports to learning to play the Tin Whistle all whilst making new friends and having fun. We believe that our personal service assures parents of the student's wellbeing. We provide a most suitable environment for your child to be happy in and help them settle into their new surroundings with ease.
We breed our own Connemara Ponies on our farm. A gentle and fun pony for families with great characters and ability to perform when required. We attend shows regularly and are always in the rosettes. We also have an Organic Sheep Farm with plenty of lambs to keep students busy, from rounding up in horseback to feeding lambs and the annual shearing. Learn more..
Each riding programme is designed with the individual student in mind. We cater for all abilities and ensure each day is fun and varied. We have many different horses and ponies to chose from as many different treks especially to the nearby beach.
