Teaching Qualifications and Experience
Patrick has a TEFL Certificate and an MA., (London) Decorative Arts and Historic Interiors. He works from home and has lectured and taught English to students of different ages over a long period. These have been Homestay students. Patrick has recently started a business selling bowties. Caroline works from home too and sells garden ornaments and garden designs, she is RHS qualified and also has a TEFL certificate.
Hobbies and Interests
History, Architecture, Antiques, Literature, Choral singing, Classical Music, gardening, clocks, cooking, horse riding and racing, walking and exploring the countryside.
Accommodation
We have 2 bedrooms available for students. Both face West onto a large secluded garden and are furnished with antiques. They are on a separate landing with their own bathroom.
Excursions and Local Attractions
We live in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the Midlands of Ireland, surrounded by beautiful lakes where guests can swim, fish or relax beside. There are many walks in the area and we can supply bikes for those wanting to explore further afield. We organise excursions to the great Megalithic tomb at Loughcrew, Fore Abbey, Tullynally Castle and gardens, plus a guided tour day trip to Dublin with Patrick.
Although the village of Coole is small there is a tennis court, shop, and pub in the village with the town of Mullingar at hand with trains and buses to Dublin and the west. We can arrange horse riding lessons, keep fit, yoga and zumba classes for anyone.
